Accident

  • What if I am in an accident?

    If anyone is injured please seek medical help first. After that, go to the menu on your smart phone app and press the menu button.  One of the options there “accidents” Please follow instructions. Make sure to report any accidents to your insurance company as well as Rental Manager of the dealership.

Age Limit

  • Do you charge extra fees for drivers under 25?

    No underage charges or fees apply. We offer same low car rental rates for everyone. No young driver fees.  There are no fees of any kind based on age. You must be at least 21 years old to be able to become a member and rent a car with Dealer Car Rentals.

  • Is there an age limit?

    Yes, you must be 21 year of age or older to be able to rent a car at Dealer Car Rentals Network.

Break Down

  • What if I break down while renting the car?

    While the rental cars in our network are in great shape and that shouldn’t happen, if it does, we have a 24/7 Road side Assistance hot line. You can access the Roadside Assistance if your rental vehicle needs a tow or other maintenance.  Please refer to the terms of the roadside assistance as this is not a free service is the cause of the breakdown was caused by your negligence. Damage Reporting

  • How do I report damage?
      1. If you see damage prior to your rental please note this on the app and take the appropriate pictures then submit. Our app has built in “damage reporting” feature for both check-out and check-in.
      2. If you caused the damage, when getting ready to end your rental you can note this on the app and take pictures to protect yourself.  You will also want to report the damage to the rental manager of the dealership you rented from.

During Rental

  • Is Smoking Allowed?

    Smoking of any kind is prohibited and fine and cleaning fee will be charged accordingly. Click to see fee schedule for details.

  • What do I do if somebody breaks in my car?

    Call the police and make a report.  If there was damage then please note this when you end the rental where it asks for “damage to report” 

  • What do I do if I have a broken windshield or window?

    Note this on the app when you end the rental where it asks for “damage to report”.  You will also want to report this to the rental manager as well. If this happened due to an accident and If anyone is injured please seek medical help first. After that, go to the menu on your smart phone app and press the menu button.  One of the options there “accidents” Please follow instructions on your screen. Make sure to report any accidents to your insurance company as well.

  • Do I need any safety checks if I am renting for long term or longer than a month?

    Yes, the vehicle needs to be returned prior to the month rental for a safety check.

  • What if I have minor issues like the tail light or headlight is out or the vehicle needs wiper blades replaced?

    Please contact with Rental Manager of the Dealership. Rental Manager would be able to walk you through produce an acceptable solution.

  • What if I run out of gas?

    This will be your responsibility.  You can call the roadside assistance but you will be charged for this service.

  • Do you provide stud/winter tires and chain?

    No  we do not.

  • Can I drive my rental car to Mexico?

    No, travel in Mexico is unauthorized and not allowed.

  • Can I drive my rental car to Canada?

    Yes, if you rented in a State that is adjoining Canada.

  • What are driving area limitations?

    You may only drive in the State you rented from and any adjoining state.  These rentals are not for the purpose of multi-State travel. You cannot go into Mexico for any reason.

  • How many miles can I drive the rental car?

    There is no limit to the miles since Dealer Car Rentals offer unlimited miles car rentals but there is a geographical limitation.  You are not allowed to take the car further than an adjoining State without express written consent from the renting dealership.

  • What are the prohibited uses?

    Please click here for the list of Prohibited Uses that is also on your Rental Agreement which was included on your rental-out and rental in invoice of your reservation.

During Rental Car Pick-up

  • Where is My Rental Car Located?

    The address and location of the rental car can be found in the following;

    1. Address indicated on your smart phone app as.
    2. Upper portion of your reservation confirmation e-mail clearly indicates the address of the location.
    3. The Reservation Reminder E-mail also indicates address of the vehicle location clearly.
    4. Please note that the “License Plate” number of your vehicle is indicated on your smart phone app and can be found on your “Start/End Trip or Rental”.

     

  • Where Do I Find My Rental Car Key?

    Rental car key will be plugged into “Key Sensor” and in most cars it is located in the glove box. In some cars it may be located under the steering column.

  • What to do if my credit card is declined and I can’t get in my rental?
      1. Try to edit your credit card information in your profile on the app.  Please make sure that your billing address is the correct address that is associated with that particular credit card.
      2. If that doesn’t work, first contact with your credit card provider or bank and if you can not resolve the issue then cancel your reservation and contact the rental manager for the dealership.
  • What to do if the alarm sounds when I open the car?

    You can either immediately press the unlock button on the door of the vehicle or, you can quickly get the key from the key sensor and press the alarm button on the key fob or insert the key into ignition and start engine. If you still have an issue contact with rental manager. Rental Manager’s name, e-mail and phone numbers are available at your Reservation Confirmation e-mail.

  • What to do if my car won’t unlock to start my rental?

    Contact the rental manager for the dealership as they will have to initialize the unit so that access can be granted.  Another option would be to cancel that reservation and make another reservation for one of the other available vehicles. Rental Manager’s name, e-mail and phone number available at your Reservation Confirmation e-mail.

  • What to do if I show up for my car rental and the car isn’t here?

    The only reason this should happen is if the person who previously rented this particular vehicle didn’t return it when they said they would.  Your first, and best option, would be to cancel your current reservation on your app and make another reservation on the spot for one of the other vehicles that is available.  If for some reason you had to have that particular vehicle (you need a van or a pick up as an example) Then contact the rental manager of the dealership. Rental Manager’s name, e-mail and phone number are printed on your “Reservation Confirmation” e-mail.

During Rental Car Return

  • What is a Key Sensor?

    It is a small male jack-piece that has attached to the key/fob that you will find inserted into female plug in the glove box or under the steering column. You can not end your rental until you return your key by inserting male jack-piece into the female plug.

  • May I return my rental car to any other locations?

    Unfortunately, we are unable to do that.  There are no one-way rentals. Rental vehicle must be returned to original pick-up location to be able to “end rental”. You will be charged for up until rental car returned to original pick-up location.

  • Do I have to fuel before returning my rental car?

    Yes, the car must be returned full or your credit card will be charged to fill the vehicle with fuel.

  • Do I have to wash and clean up the rental car before returning?

    It is expected that the car be returned in a relatively clean state.  If the vehicle needs excessive cleaning other than the normal wash and vacuum then a fee may be charged.

  • What do I do if I am late to return my car?

    Please try to avoid this as another renter may have the car reserved already for that time period.  If that is unavoidable, as soon as you know you are going to go over your reservation time period, make a new reservation with the new expected time of arrival.  This way no one else will be able to rent the car if you have already extended the reservation.

  • Can I return my rental before the reservation is up?

    Yes, you can bring back the rental car at any time and end your rental.  You will only be charged for the time that you used the rental vehicle.

  • What to do if the app won’t let me end my rental?
      1. You can not end your rental unless you are in the designated drop off area for the dealership.  This will be in the same general area as you picked up the vehicle.
      2. Please make sure that the key is properly and completely inserted into the key sensor.
      3. If both of the above have been done and app still do not let you “end” your rental then contact the rental manager of the dealership.

Extending Rental Reservations

  • What if my plans change and I want to add on some time to my rental?

    Please give us as much notice as possible if this is the case. Other people may have reserved the car you are using and this could cause a problem. If it is unavoidable, you may add on to your existing rental but there may be a penalty assessed.

  • Where is My Rental Car Located?

    The address and location of the rental car can be found in the following;

    1. Address indicated on your smart phone app as.
    2. Upper portion of your reservation confirmation e-mail clearly indicates the address of the location.
    3. The Reservation Reminder E-mail also indicates address of the vehicle location clearly.
    4. Please note that the “License Plate” number of your vehicle is indicated on your smart phone app and can be found on your “Start/End Trip or Rental”.

    Yes, you can rent a car for a month, several months or as long as you desire. Our lowest rates apply for monthly and long term rentals. To be able to rent cars over a month or several months you need to book back to back reservations since each reservation can not exceed 30 days. You may choose to book back to back reservations for same car or a different car. However even if you choose to book your reservation for the same car you still need to return your rental vehicle at the end of max 30 days rental (check-in), end your rental and then you can start your new reservation and check-out. If you have back to back reservations for the same rental car for longer than 30 days please reach out to Rental Manager of your location to schedule a quick safety check for your rental vehicle. Rental Manager coordinates printed on your Reservation Confirmation e-mail.

  • What is your Pet Policy?

    Dealer Car Rentals is Pet friendly. Pets are allowed in our rental cars and we do not charge extra fees for pets. However customers need to keep pets crated and return their rental car in clean condition and free of pet hair to avoid cleaning and detailing fees. Service animals used by customers with disabilities are allowed in the vehicle without a carrier. Renters are responsible for any damage caused by the pet and will be charged in accordance with our Fee Policy.

  • Where do I find rental car rates?

    You can find general pricing/rate information at https://www.dealercarrentals.com/car-rental-pricing Since rental car rates may vary based on location and vehicle type and make and model, to be able to see specific pricing, please proceed booking, choose your pick-up and drop off dates, choose your pick-up  location and click in desired vehicle to see estimated total price including taxes on our app or web-app.

  • Do I get charged when I book a reservation or during pick-up or return?

    Your credit card will be authorized as soon as you book a reservation. You will be charged as soon as you return the rental vehicle and end the rental.

  • May I rent a car for my close family member or friend who does not have a smartphone?

    No, they need to be a registered and approved “Member” to qualify and must have a smartphone to rent a car.

  • Do I need to have US Driver’s license to be able to rent?

    A valid driver’s license is necessary but you must have insurance coverage that is in effect and applicable/transferable to the car you have rented.

  • What if I fall in love with my rental car and would like to buy it?

    Check with the Rental Manager of the dealership.  That particular car may not be available but one just like it may be.

Insurance

  • What kind of insurance coverage should I have to be able to rent a car?

    You will need full coverage liability with comprehensive and collision coverage that is transferable to the type of car you are renting.  You need a deductible that is $1,000 or less.

  • What if I am from another country and my insurance coverage doesn’t transfer to the US?

    Unfortunately, if you don’t have insurance that is transferable then you would be unable to rent from this platform.

  • Can I purchase supplemental liability coverage?

    Not at this time but this is an option that will be coming on shortly.

  • Can I purchase collision damage waiver?

    Not at this time but this is an option that will be coming on board shortly.

  • What if I don’t have insurance?

    Currently you would not be able to rent a car at Dealer Car Rentals.

Membership

  • What is the Membership Requirement?

    You must be at least 21 years old with valid drivers license, valid auto insurance that extends to rental car in USA and must have one of the major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) under your name. Last but not least you must agree with our membership terms and conditions.

  • Is Dealer Car Rentals Membership Free?

    Yes, Dealer Car Rentals Membership is absolutely free. Following registration/sign-up your credit card will be authorized for a very small amount ($0.01) to verify your identity. This is just an authorization, not a charge and it will disappear from your credit card transaction history within few days. To become a member please go to our sign-up page and fill up the form. This is only one time process and takes less than 5 minutes. You will need to have your drivers license, insurance information and credit card with you. Make sure that credit card is under your name and your credit card billing zip code is matching with your address. We do accept all 4  major credit cards; Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

My Account

  • How do I update my credit card, driver’s license and insurance information?

    Press the “profile” tab on the app.  You can then edit all your personal info such as Driver’s license, Credit Card and Insurance info.  Click “Save” and all info will be updated. You may also do this at desktop version on your PC or tablet at our Dealer Car Rentals website.

Reservations

  • Can I have more than one reservation?

    You can have multiple reservations but only one reservation, per person at any given time.  In other words, you can’t have two reservations on two different cars at the same time.

  • How do I change or cancel my reservation?

    For Android phones go to the menu function on the app and click the “History” button (clock) to access your current reservations and trips. Then press the reservation that you want to cancel or change. Then you click and choose either “cancel” or “change” button to cancel or change your reservation. For Apple (IOS) phones go to menu function and click “History” and then click on “My Booking” to either “cancel” or “change” your reservation. You may also use web-app/desktop version on your PC, tablet or smartphone to “cancel” or “change” your reservation by simply visiting Dealer Car Rentals web site then login and “click” on “Reservations” to “cancel” or “change”.
